New Frontwave Credit Union Arena Being Built in Oceanside
A sports arena in Oceanside has been talked about for years. There was even talk about building a sports complex for the Chargers. Finally a new 170,000 square foot venue is currently under construction and will house the San Diego Soccers. Neighboring the new arena is the SoCal Sports Complex, tournament soccer fields that get more than 1 million visitors each year.
The new arena should be completed by early fall 2024.
Three groups with North County roots are privately funding the new arena that is expected to cost more than $80 million. The indoor arena will seat 7,500 people and can cut seating to accommodate smaller events. It’s the perfect size for professional soccer, sizeable concerts, shows, events, and so much more. Its outdoor plaza will have food and beverage vendors available to the public year round, and an outdoor stage. It’s going to be the biggest arena in San Diego North County.
