San Diego Maritime Museum: Festival of Sail, Brew Fest, and More!

Brew Fest – August 5, 1pm-5pm
The Maritime Museum of San Diego, home to one of the world’s finest collections of historic vessels hosts Brew Fest on August 5. This popular annual event is touted as “the best beer fest in San Diego”. Tickets include general admission to all ships and submarines. Guests may come aboard and choose from a delicious assortment of foods, and listen to live music. Festival participants have the opportunity to sample assorted beers from popular local craft breweries such as Hess Brewery, Longship Brewery, Washing Gold Cider, Two Kids Brewing, Second Chance Brewery, Kombucha, and many more. The Museum will be firing 17th century Napoleonic-era cannons each hour during the festival.
Tickets are $35 and VIP tickets are $50 which include early admission at noon.

San Salvador Sailing Adventures -August 12 and 26, board 11:30am sail 12- 4pm
The San Salvador is a replica of Juan Rodriguez Cabrillo’s ship that arrived at the port we now call San Diego on September 28, 1542. These 4-hour Sailing Adventures are for people who love history, and sailing. Very few people have sailed aboard Galleons of the sixteenth century. No sailing experience required. Tickets are $49 for children and $99 for adults.

Festival of Sail and Grand Parade – Labor Day Weekend – Aug 31 – Sept 4
The Port of San Diego’s Festival of Sail will grace the waterfront Labor Day Weekend. 125,000 are expected to attend this annual Tall Ships Event on the Embarcadero. The Festival of Sail, hosted by the Maritime Museum of San Diego, will again transform the North Embarcadero into a nautical theme park. More than twenty tall ships and other fascinating vessels from around the world will participate. Visitors will enjoy touring the ships, eat delicious food and drink from dozens of restaurant booths, a petting zoo, pirates, sunset cruises and shopping for one of-a-kind items among more than 150 festival vendors. Several ships will engage in cannon battle reenactments on San Diego Bay during the festival. The festival kicks off with a Grand Parade of Sail on San Diego Bay at 1:30pm on Thursday August 31.
