Plants from all over the world thrive at San Diego Botanic Garden. The garden features numerous exhibits, including rare bamboo groves, desert gardens, a tropical rainforest, California native plants, Mediterranean climate landscapes, succulent gardens, an herb garden, fire-safe landscaping, a subtropical fruit garden, and native coastal sage natural areas. It also home to the Hamilton Children’s Garden, which is the largest interactive children’s garden on the West Coast. Its diverse topography gives visitors the sensation of going from a desert environment to a tropical rainforest, all within 37 acres.
Thursday Family Fun Night
Through August 31
Enjoy some outdoor fun at Thursday Family Fun Night, every Thursday through August 31 from 4:30pm to 8pm. This year, due to construction adjacent to the Hamilton Children’s Garden, the event will be held at San Dieguito Heritage Museum on Quail Gardens Drive. Family-friendly entertainment designed to amuse both adults and children takes place from 6 – 7pm. Garden lovers of all ages can also take advantage of extended evening hours at San Diego Botanic Garden. The entire garden will be open until 8 pm.
