In a world where inactivity and bad food choices are way too much the norm, everbowl is a place that reminds us to “unevolve” and serves natural food and ingredients that have been around forever. Founded on the idea that the convenience-driven, modern world has an over-evolving effect on humans, everbowl makes eating delicious, healthy, and easy.
Serving superfood bowls, smoothies, salads, shots, and sometimes soups, everbowl also has its own oats called Everoats. Bowls are available in 4 different bases: Acai, Acerola, Pitaya and Graviola. All are equally delicious, and have a host of healthy, anti-aging benefits. Everything is non-dairy and no sugar is ever added.
Bowls can be ordered as a create-your-own in the form of a WhatEver Bowl, or you can order one from the Local Favorites, where the bowls are a predesigned concoction of healthy deliciousness. The exotic toppings are too many to list; but they are all there for you to either add to your Local Favorite, or mix-and-match into your own perfect Whatever. Proteins can be added for a little extra bulk, although everbowls are already bulky. Touted as a great meal replacement, everbowls are a full 24-ounces of ingredients, all of which have been around forever. And, no matter what you add to customize your bowl, they are always just $8, a very good value.
Salads are $8 and a great dining option. Try a Quinoa-Kale Blast Salad with kale, quinoa, roasted almonds, golden raisins, and pomegranate seeds with a lemon vinaigrette dressing. Absolutely delicious and so healthy! They also serve shots and fruit and vegetable smoothies. Try their 16 oz Vacation Smoothie with acai, blueberry, pineapple, bananas and coconut milk.

Looking for a special place for happy hour or grabbing a bite before the races? Bushfire is Del Mar’s latest eatery sensation. If you’re a fan of Urban Plates, then you’ll absolutely love Bushfire Kitchen, where you go up to their long display counter and select your plates. Now open in Del Mar, in the Beach Side Shopping Center, locals have quickly discovered that this place is a real winner. With 4-5 star ratings on Yelp and Trip Advisor, they specialize in farm fresh food made the old-fashioned way. Everything is made from scratch, using the finest ingredients and cooked with bold flavors. The Zagat review states “Organic, grass-fed BBQ is the name of the game at these popular ‘cue specialists in La Costa and now Del Mar, serving grass-fed hamburgers, antibiotic-free chicken and locally sourced vegetables, alongside scratch-made breads and dressings.” We give Bushfire high ratings for quality, healthy, organic, humanely raised food with bold flavors and affordable prices.
Bushfire serves breakfast, lunch, happy hour, and dinner. If you’re a coffee fan, start your morning with a cup of gourmet coffee with beans from Zumbar Coffee of Sorrento Valley, ground fresh daily. Try a frothy steamed espresso latte for only $3.75, with an order of Eggs Benedict or French Toast. For lunch and dinner awaken your taste buds with their tender, slow-braised Angus Beef Brisket or their Chipotle Short Ribs. Their slow-braise oven cooks meats overnight and ensures the meat falls off the bone. Their 1/2 lb. succulent burgers are made from fresh, never frozen, organic grass-fed beef or lamb. We recommend The Californian that comes with sharp cheddar, local avocado, wild baby arugula, tomato, house-pickled red onions and basil pesto aioli sauce. Dine inside or on their comfortable and exquisitely lit outdoor patio complete with outdoor bar. They have 12 craft beers on tap and a nice wine selection. They recently installed the first Stubborn natural soda taps in San Diego.
Everything on the menu is made from scratch and their bread, rolls and buns are baked fresh in-house daily. Side dishes include baked sweet potato, organic brown rice, Himalayan Basmati rice, garlic mashed potatoes, bacon and baked beans and cooked-to- order fries. Try their premium hot sides and cold salads. One of our favorites is their Quinoa, Beet and Wild Arugula Salad. Keeping the earth’s ecology in mind, to-go boxes are made from recycled paper. If you prefer, they will make a “cooked” seafood platter for you, too.
Depending on the season, Pelly’s Fish Market offers lobster, large fillets of fresh ahi, yellowtail, albacore, mahi-mahi, halibut, Atlantic salmon, swordfish, sea bass (perfect for the barbecue), and a wide assortment of local shellfish including oysters, clams and mussels.
Pelly’s has an excellent reputation for serving their signature char-grilled entrees. We recommend the mahi-mahi, halibut, and grilled fish tacos. If you’re in the mood for a salad, try their fresh Ono salad, Pelly’s special salad, or their stone crab salad. They have the best chowder, too; so indulge in their famous Manhattan red or Boston white clam chowder. Pelly’s is not a fancy sit-down restaurant; but the quality of their freshly prepared seafood more than makes up for it, and the prices are very reasonable. Bruegger’s Bagels on El Camino Real in La Costa and Scripps Poway Parkway in Poway, offers delicious, piping hot, oven-baked fresh bagels every day of the year. Pick up a dozen bagels with cream cheese and surprise your coworkers or have some neighbors over on the weekends. Try a fresh hot raisin or blueberry bagel or onion bagel with cream cheese, or a Bruegger’s Breakfast Sandwich for the perfect way to start your day. Their classic breakfast sandwiches combine eggs with your choice of peppered bacon, ham, sausage or turkey sausage on a hot fresh bagel. Our all-time favorite is their classic smoked salmon and cream cheese, stacked high on a fresh onion bagel with sliced tomato, red onions, and capers.
In addition to their famous bagels, breakfast sandwiches and bagel sandwiches, Bruegger’s offers a healthier “Under 500 Calorie” menu. If you are a calorie counter, try one of their Skinny Bagels. Guests can now order any of Bruegger’s 15-plus varieties “skinny,” due to Bruegger’s unique slicing process. Instead of changing the recipe of its time-tested, New York-style bagel, Bruegger’s slices the bagels thinner using a process that removes approximately one-third of the bagel’s center but preserves its unique eggshell crust and delicious toppings. The result is a lower calorie bagel without sacrificing variety or taste. Try their Skinny Zesty Egg White Sandwich. This comes with an egg white patty on a skinny sesame bagel, with turkey sausage, Swiss cheese and sun dried tomato spread.
