September 16 – 17
Oceanside Harbor Days offers a wide variety of events and attractions for the entire family. Presented by Genentech and Tri-City Medical Center and organized by the Oceanside Chamber of Commerce and Oceanside Harbor District, the multi-attraction event takes place on September 16 from 9 am to 6 pm and September 17 from 9 am to 5 pm.
The festivities start out with the Oceanside Fire Department Association’s annual Pancake Breakfast fundraiser on Saturday morning. Harbor Days features over 200 arts and craft exhibits, a tasty food court, a village filled with costumed pirates led by Captain Jack Sparrow, and a beer garden sponsored by the Prohibition Brewing Company. Contests are also a big part of the event. They include a fishing derby, beauty pageant, world-famous Tiki Swim, and the wonderfully unique, “Nail and Sail” competition that draws thousands of spectators each year.
Harbor Days is free to the public with complimentary transportation provided by the Chamber via the British Bus Company. Their unique double-decker buses pick up Harbor Days attendees from various shuttles stops throughout the harbor and provide a pick-up/drop-off location at the downtown Oceanside Transit Center at Seagaze and Cleveland Streets.
This event takes place at Oceanside Harbor Beach. For more information call (760) 722-1534 or visit www.oceansideharbordays.com.
