Benjamin Cole directs North Coast Repertory Theatre School students in this entertaining summer performance. Magical fairies with love juice complicate two teen couples’ relationships. A group of silly actors are interrupted when one of them is transformed into a half-man/half-donkey creature with whom the queen of the fairies falls in love. Performances are free and take place at La Colonia Community Center and Park.

Tomfoolery is a revue of the witty, wicked and thoroughly twisted world of famed satirical songwriter Tom Lehrer. Four actors, stools, a piano and a healthy dose of attitude are all that is needed to enjoy this delightful performance. Audiences will be beside themselves with the clever lyrics and hummable tunes. Rediscover the man and the songs that have delighted and skewered the world for over forty years in Tomfoolery.

Nobody does Neil Simon like North Coast Rep. Middle-aged, overworked Barney Cashman has no experience in covert maneuvers and is bored with his bland “nice” life. He anxiously tries to join the sexual revolution before it’s too late, and his attempts at seduction will audiences howling with laughter.

Comedian, actor and sleight of hand virtuoso John Carney takes the stage in his one-man show, Carney Magic. Honored by Hollywood’s Magic Castle and the Academy of Magical Arts’ prestigious Performing Masters Fellowship, Carney’s engaging wit and dazzling talent have landed him appearances on Jerry Seinfeld’s HBO Special, “The Late Show with David Letterman” and more. This theatrical experience features everything from storytelling, personal accounts and magic. From the silly to sentimental, Carney Magic expertly weaves likeable characters with magic and mind-blowing slight of hand to deliver a performance that will amaze and delight.
