Starting with an audience suggestion, Impro Theatre creates completely improvised, full-length plays in the styles of the world’s greatest writers. This holiday season, the troupe delivers a hilarious comedy inspired by the works of Charles Dickens with rich narration and vivid characters. Comic portraits, cruel melodrama and humane charity of heartbreaking tenderness explode onto the teeming streets of Victorian London.  

 

Sister’s Christmas Catechism: The Mystery of the Magi’s Gold 

December 20-24 

 

This holiday mystery extravaganza, from the author of Late Nite Catechism, follows Sister as she takes on the mystery that has intrigued historians throughout the ages – what  happened to the Magi’s gold. Employing her own scientific tools, with assistance from a local choir and a gaggle of audience members, Sister creates a living Nativity unlike any seen before.  

 

Around The World in Eighty Days 

January 10-February 4 

 

Join fearless adventurer Phileas Fogg in the original “Great Race,” circling the globe alive with danger, romance and comic surprises at every turn. In the hilariously theatrical style of The 39 Steps, five actors portray 42 characters in a thrilling race against time.  

 

Linda Purl: The Year of Magical Thinking  

January 22-23 

 

Linda Purl, stage, movie and television veteran actress, stars in this one-woman tour-de-force performance about journey, loss and the ultimate triumph of the human spirit. Based on Joan Didion’s National Book Award-winning memoir, the play is a tribute to an extraordinary marriage and a love letter to Didion’s daughter.
