Maritime Museum of San Diego
Parade of Lights Dinner
December 10 and 17
Maritime Museum of San Diego has been known for years as the best place on the waterfront to view the annual Parade of Lights on San Diego Bay, from the Museum’s historic 1898 steam ferryboat Berkeley. The buffet and no-host bar will be open on December 10 and 17 from 5 to 8pm. This year, the Winter Wonderland holiday event complements the holiday buffet with “ice” skating, photos with Santa, hot cocoa, cider and holiday cookies. After 6pm, guests who only want to watch the parade can purchase tickets for $10. Visitors are encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped toy for the Toys for Tots program.
Tim Flannery and Friends
Maritime Museum of San Diego announces the return of Tim Flannery and Friends aboard the world’s oldest active sailing ship Star of India. The performance features a colorful blend of folk, country and traditional music and storytelling on December 16 at 8pm. Every cent from ticket sales benefit Tim Flannery’s non-profit, the Love Harder Project, for anti-bullying and anti-violence programs across the country. Concert tickets are $49 for adults 21 and older. VIP tickets are available for $85, which includes heavy appetizers, two complimentary drinks, concert and early entry for seat selection.
Black and Gold New Year’s Eve Party
Guests ring in the New Year in a classy glitzy lounge aboard the historic steam ferryboat Berkeley, overlooking San Diego Bay from 9pm to 1am. The affair includes music from the ‘70s, ‘80s and ‘90s, a full bar, appetizers, a photo booth, an enormous dessert buffet, dancing, a balloon drop at midnight and a champagne toast. Tickets also include party hats, noisemakers, beads and fun faire to help ring in the New Year.
