The Dazzle of Day

This exhibition proposes to offer a visual pause of contemplation and reflection on the current state of the contemporary social landscape. Rich conceptual consideration and visual exploration are revealed with investigations of the natural landscape and its relationship to the urban experience in Shane Anderson’s Del Rio series, the dislocation of the pavement in Craig Carlson’s multiple series from Los Angeles, and selections from Paul Turounet’s ongoing series, Somewhere Out There, Something Is Happening. Artist’s talks are on February 8 at 3pm, followed by a reception from 4 to 6pm.
Place Holder/Courtly Luv

Place Holderis a mindful collection of work derived from concepts of deconstruction, stability and man-made environments. Surface exploration and power play of control are utilized to manipulate and redesign overlooked industrial raw materials.Sportsfan presents: Courtly Luvshowcases thoughts on cultural and historical ideas of romance and social identity. Both the sculptural landscape and the uniformed costumes act as artifacts in a happening world, where the audience is simultaneously asked to be present and encouraged to experience nostalgia. Artist’s talks take place on March 15 at 11:15am. The reception is on March 31 from 6 to 8pm.
