Falconry Demonstrations

Sundays, 1pm


On Sundays, Master Falconer Cisco Clibourne facilitates interactive flights and an educational demonstration with hawks and falcons in the parking area of Wynola Pizza. Watch Pancho the Peregrine Falcon stoop from high in the sky to the falconry lure and observe other falcons flying to the drone, which is used to train them to move to an elevated height. Experience interactive flights with two Harris hawks as they fly to the fist of a falconry glove. Observers also have the opportunity to pose for photos with the raptors up-close and personal.  After the show, enjoy delicious food and beverages at Wynola Pizza. Cupid’s Country Picnic

February 10, 11am-3pm


Fort Cross Old Timey Adventures offersa romantic day of memorable fun in Julian. The day begins with a picnic lunch that includes dessert and non-alcoholic beverages. Picnickers are welcome to bring their own alcoholic beverages, but please drink responsibly.Each couple can go on a scavenger hunt with clues leading to keepsake memories that can be taken home. Other activities include an archery contest usingCupid’s bow, a romantic hayride around the farm’s 12 acres and lilac groves, a country hoedown with easy-to-follow folk dancing instructions and an opportunity to dress up saloon-style for a photo shoot at Julian Olde Time Photo. Lilac Festival and Spring Tours

Stroll through the organic lilac groves and enjoy the sweet smells and beautiful views of the surrounding Julian area.Back in the 1960s, the area near Fort Cross was famous for lilacs.The Lilac Festival features a hayride with a scenic nature loop, tomahawk throwing and archery, a petting zoo,free form gardening and planting, vase painting, candle dipping and a lively jug band show.Fragrant lilac stems and potted lilacsare available for purchase.
