Holiday Bowl at Qualcomm Stadium
San Diego’s signature sporting event returns with an exciting game between some of college football’s most competitive conferences, the Big Ten and the Pac-12. Last year, the Minnesota Golden Gophers shut down the Washington State Cougars 17-12.
Festivities kick off with a luncheon and marching band showcase in downtown San Diego on December 27. Over 1,200 guests are treated to a great lunch at 11am, complete with video team highlight presentations and team interviews. Guests have the opportunity to sit and interact with the players and coaches of the participating schools. Marching bands and spirit squads also perform and meet for a heart-pounding Battle of the Bands.
On December 28 at 10am, the bayside streets of downtown San Diego come alive with the Port of San Diego Holiday Bowl Parade. Each year, over 100,000 street-side spectators and a nationwide television audience enjoy world-class marching bands, magnificent floats, entertaining drill teams and a procession of enormous balloons. The parade is accompanied by the 23rd Solar Turbines 5K, which starts at 9:45am on the corner of Harbor Drive and Ash Street and finishes near Ruocco Park.
Prior to the game, guests can enjoy unlimited food, beer and wine, as well as private performances by college bands and cheerleaders, at the Technology Integration Group VIP Tailgate Party at 3:30pm. The game starts at 6pm, with a pre-game show at 5:30pm.
