Hundreds of local residents are joining forces to fight lung cancer on August 6. The San Diego Free to Breathe 5K Run/Walk and 1-Mile Walk takes place at Embarcadero Marina Park North from 6:15 to 9:15 am. This year’s event also includes a Survivors Area, kids’ activities such as face painting and coloring, music from a local DJ, plenty of refreshments and fun for the whole family. Special recognition will be given to top finishers and fundraisers.
All proceeds from the event support Free to Breathe, a lung cancer research and advocacy organization dedicated to increasing lung cancer survival. Since 2005, Free to Breathe events have raised over $16 million to support groundbreaking lung cancer research and educational programs.
Online registration costs $30 and closes August 2. Event day registration costs $35 and begins at 6:15 am. Embarcadero Marino Park North is located at 400 Kettner Boulevard, San Diego. For more information visit www.freetobreathe.org/sandiego.
