Doggie Gras Parade

Join Helen Woodward Animal Center for the most “paw-thentic” Fat Tuesday Celebration west of the Mississippi. The Doggie Gras Parade, which takes place on February 11, from 10am to noon, is family-friendly, dog-friendly and free to the public. Dress in Mardi Gras-themed costumes and connect with Helen Woodward Animal Center adoptable animals, alumni and revelers of all ages, breeds and creeds.Interested participants can even create their own parade “float” from a spare stroller or wagon, or simply dress to impress and stroll along the route.There is a contest for the Best Dressed Pet and Best Doggie Gras Float. Other activities include Mardi Gras photos on “Bour-bone Street” and face painting.Proceeds from all activities support the Helen Woodward Animal Center Adoptions Department.
