17th Annual Fall Back Festival
November 5, 11am-4pm
It’s a blast from the past for the entire family at the 17th annual Fall Back Festival, which takes place on November 5 from 11am to 4pm. This free children’s street faire is in the heart of downtown’s Gaslamp Quarter, with lively festivities in front of the William Heath Davis House.
Take a stroll down the historical streets of the Gaslamp Quarter and fall back into San Diego’s wild past of the 1880s. Kids can saddle up for pony rides, learn to churn butter, dip their own candles, pan for gold with real prospectors and discover history with a Wild West Show, blacksmith demonstrations and other interactive activities. There are also multiple educational opportunities at the cultural booths, where families can learn about different nationalities and how they have contributed to the diverse fabric that makes up San Diego. Kids and adults can enter a spaghetti-, pie-, or ice cream-eating contest for a chance to win some awesome prizes and walk away with a full stomach. Don’t forget to capture the moment by taking a time-period portrait complete with traditional Wild West attire and props.
The Fall Back Festival takes place in the Gaslamp Quarter between 4th and Island Avenues, San Diego. For more information call (619) 233-5008 or visit www.gaslampfoundation.org.
